Leap Sounds

I know I am a bit behind here, in that I am posting about something that took place over a week ago, but bear with me.

As we rang in the New Year this year, there was an extra second added to the atomic clocks around the world because of the slowing of the earth's rotation. In honor of this extra second, the Create Digital Music blog called for one-second compositions.

The results are posted here, and I think its pretty cool. You might want to check it out, its not that long.

  1. Cool concept. I like it. Unfortunately I only saw an MP3 that seemingly puts all the 1-second submissions end-to-end, resulting in a longer blob of sound that becomes "noisy" altogether. It would be cooler if they had the submissions separated into different files... or if they placed a one second bit of silence between each piece, so they could be appreciated as original compositions. Nice, clear sound though.

  2. I agree, it would have been nice to appreciate the individual compositions. It would have been a lot of 1 second mp3s though.
